The Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf officially launched its podcast, 7 Lakes Lounge, in an evening marked by fellowship, inspiration, and forward-thinking dialogue. The event featured guest speaker Daniel Lutaaya, who delivered an engaging presentation on Art vs Science, setting the tone for what the podcast represents.

Designed to connect with Gen Z, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and the wider community, the 7 Lakes Lounge aims to explore life experiences, educational content, lifestyle conversations, Rotary values, and personal relationships in a way that is intentional and impactful.

Daniel opened with a thought-provoking but interesting session where he played different songs to ponder on the question,

“What emotions did the song evoke, You either felt extreme happiness, or you felt indifferent, or you felt unhappy — but there is always a feeling,” emphasizing that every piece of content carries emotion and responsibility.

Through interactive engagement with members, Daniel encouraged the audience to think deeply about the purpose behind creative work. He highlighted that art is not accidental but deliberate, and creators must intentionally weave the feelings they want their audience to experience.

“As artists, we must weave the feeling that we want people to feel in the art that we create,” he explained. The discussion was lively, with members sharing reflections and responding to his questions, reinforcing the spirit of openness and fellowship that defines Rotaract gatherings. The message was clear: content creation, especially within a values-driven organization like Rotary, must be thoughtful, meaningful, and guided by purpose.

To illustrate the connection between art and science, Daniel referenced Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, explaining that when scientists sought to represent humanity to potential life beyond Earth, they chose to include music, photographs, and audio recordings rather than equations. This decision, he noted, underscores that art is the highest expression of human identity. He further referenced a 19th-century hymn by Sarah Flower Adams, demonstrating how art created centuries ago can still resonate today when it carries intentional meaning. His examples reinforced the idea that powerful content stands the test of time.

As attention turned fully to the launch of 7 Lakes Lounge, Daniel challenged the team to rise above the noise of today’s fast-paced digital landscape.

“We are not just creating content… What is the intended purpose? What message are you wrapping?” he asked.

He encouraged the club to produce conversations that stimulate thought, inspire growth, and strengthen Rotary’s presence among young people. Members affirmed that the podcast should serve as a bridge — making Rotary more relatable and attractive to Gen Z while remaining valuable to Rotarians and the community at large. The emphasis was placed on research-based discussions, authenticity, and creating a platform that reflects both innovation and Rotary’s core values of service and leadership.

The evening concluded with appreciation, lighthearted moments, and renewed commitment to excellence. Members expressed gratitude for Daniel’s guidance and reaffirmed their dedication to building a podcast that will leave a lasting mark. His closing charge resonated throughout the room, “Please create content that will outlast you.” With fellowship at its core and intention as its compass, 7 Lakes Lounge now begins its journey not merely as another podcast, but as a collaborative platform designed to inform, inspire, and strengthen the Rotaract and Rotary community for years to come.
